Who we are
interprAID is the first online Community Interpreting platform (www.interpraid.org). We bridge language and cultural barriers to help migrants and refugees accessing social services. interprAID is a social enterprise. We are purpose driven. Our vision is nothing less than making language barriers a thing of the past. Our goal is a more inclusive society that thrives on diversity. We are a small core team, currently distributed over Vienna, Innsbruck and Thiruvananthapuram, and we are preparing for re-launch after our pilot phase.
What’s the role
For lack of a better name we call this the Community Catalyst role (not keen on the old organigram type terminologies). Your main task will be twofold: build and care for a truly amazing interpreter pool of people with backgrounds as diverse as you can find; and take charge of our social media communications. You will be approaching, screening and onboarding new community interpreters to join our pool and make the world know about all the good stuff we do, mainly via our social media channels.
What you bring
You are extrovert, a great communicator, very professional and have international experience (of any kind). You are a digital native, an excellent writer (think blog posts), love research and possess a fair amount of intercultural competence. Most of all, you are purpose driven and want to make a positive impact in society. You must really feel what we are doing. The social enterprise movement is what you want to be a part of. If you have been involved in migration/integration/refugee work this would be great. A background in linguistics – awesome. You love the chance to really shape, take charge and be creative in your role. You are fluent in German and English and a migration background of your own is definitely an asset.
What we offer
We offer the excitement of being part of a startup and the deep satisfaction that comes with being engaged in something that is more than a job and makes the world a better place. We are a diverse team of totally different backgrounds. We offer you to wholeheartedly apply all your skills, drive and creativity to help us grow. We don’t offer you a workplace. Instead of spending money on an office space we’d rather do regular team retreats in nice places.
If this sounds like it could be your thing please let us know by writing to email@example.com why you want to join us and what you feel you can contribute. Oh, and give us an idea how much you need to earn.
