Media in Cooperation and Transition: Social Media Editor, ohne Frist

About this role:

The social media editor will work closely with MICT’s editorial teams to build a strong social media presence of the organisation and its projects by managing the social media accounts and connecting MICT’s work with audiences.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. develops and executes MICT’s social media strategy
  2. shows a deep understanding of the opportunities around digital channels, including detailed knowledge of mainstream social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
  3. is proactive about emerging trends and new opportunities
  4. demonstrates insight into audiences and proposes how to reach and engage them through social media channels
  5. creates engaging content for distribution across web and social media platforms
  6. trains MICT’s editorial staff and journalists on the ground on how to incorporate social media in their reporting
  7. engages with MICT’s audiences and starts conversations and discussions
  8. monitors and analyses performance across all social media platforms
  9. develops MICT’s social media guideline
  10. responsible for developing and delivering campaigns and promotions

 

Qualifications and skills:

  1. In-depth understanding of digital and social media platforms and trends, especially those gaining traction among news
  2. A proven track record of managing several social media accounts, including advanced knowledge and experience with strategy, posting, influencers and
  3. Analytical skills to dissect the effectiveness and impact of social campaigns and promotions
  4. Experience in web editorial or journalism
  5. Team worker with excellent interpersonal and communications skills, Home Office possible
  6. Excellent language (English/Arabic) skills, both verbal and written
  7. Excellent IT skills; familiarity with web design or basic coding skills is a plus
